Mark Alexander, operating out of Southern California, leads the firm’s expansion efforts into the startup world, particularly ventures of extreme promise in frontier technologies. He is currently cultivating a grouping of promising disruptors in Adaptive Retail, Experiential Commerce, Remote Patient Care, and Next-Level, Token-Compression-Enabled CyberSecurity — each with the potential to significantly shape, reshape and rewire what’s next in the digital economy.
As an entrepreneur and founder himself, Mark naturally gravitates to a very deep level of involvement and engagement in virtually each assignment he invests his time, attention, effort and resources in. Total immersion is his hallmark. His depth and breadth of experiences range from startups to global enterprises where he partners with visionary leaders to transform innate market promise into top financial performance.
Previously, Mark headed up Business Development and Strategic Alliances for US Interactive, an early phase e-business professional services company, where he tripled revenues in three years through new business gains from Toyota and Adidas as well as startups (at the time) such as Wholefoods and AOL, leading to a successful IPO.
He has played key roles throughout his storied career in generating substantial gains in profitable growth and market share for a variety of media and marketing companies facing challenging transitionary pressures including Playboy, Hearst, IPG and The New York Times. He was also the team lead in his own branding startup that spearheaded high-profile deals pairing star celebrities to global brands — including Michael Jackson and Pepsi.
Mark unwinds through mostly active, outdoor pursuits — hiking, climbing, biking, show skiing, attempts at surfing — taking full advantage of the bounty and beauty of his Southern California surroundings, still a source of fascination for this New Jersey transplant.
Always open to creative brainstorming with visionary founders and their teams, a process that often leads to new perspectives and discoveries worth a closer look.
